IKA mixing technology for the battery and fuel cell production
The climate targets for the coming years include moving away from combustion engines. Alternative drive systems will include lithium-ion batteries and fuel cells. However, small electrical consumers such as wireless headphones and laptops or home energy supply by means of combined heating and power units also need modern concepts for power supply.
Batteries and fuel cells both consist of electrodes (anodes and cathodes) with an electrolyte between them. For the functionality of the energy converters, it is essential that the coating masses of the electrodes are as free as possible from agglomerates. All of the particles (solvents, binders and adhesive materials) in the coating slurry must be homogeneously distributed. Efficient inline mixing and dispersing machines that guarantee consistent product and dispersion quality with concentrated energy input can reliably achieve this.
